Täna on rahvusvaheline droon(muusika)päev. Aeg-ajalt prepareeritud piaanole iseloomulik tämber tuleb esile, ent see helitsükli pulseerimise intensiivsus on tavalisest teistsugusem. Eks see ole seesmise tunnetuse küsimus, ent siinkirjutajale on see droonalbum keskmisest huvitavam ja kandvam. Väga meisterlik teostus viimase päeva lõpuks.

Onde Poussière – Vague seconde (2017)

  • Noise
  • Experimentalism
  • Power electronics
  • Non-music
  • Avant-garde
  • Improvised noise

Brutaalsus ei hüüa tulles. Nende kahe loo puhul ei lasta isegi hüüda, pannakse avasekundist alates täisküte peale. Barbaarsus algab kodust, nagu laulis oma teisel albumil The Smiths. Inglise keeles sõnal "barbaarsus" on isegi selgem konnotatsioon rafineerituse, süsteemsuse ning ideoloogiaga. Ka siin on toorusel süsteemsus, olles jõhkruses algusest lõpuni järjekindel, sagedustelt armutu ja intensiivsuselt piinav. Kindlasti popmuusika terminites arusaamatu ja võõras – ühisosa mitteotsiv, pigem vastupidi; seega vastanduv. See on barbarism, mitte barbaarsus. Selle impromüra taga on kaks tüüpi – Doedelzak mängib vastastikku ühendatud analoogsünti ning Kecap Tuyul vehib sisendita mikriga, mida laseb läbi efektibloki. Juhuslikud saundid, aleatoorne pöörasus. Justkui kõrilaulikud laulmas häälikuid, olles seestunud tehisintelligentsest ksenomorfist. Nende 57 ja poole lõbusvaenuliku minuti taga on plaadifirma Eg0cide Productions.

Stillborn Blues – III (2018)

  • Improvised music
  • Avant-garde
  • Avant-rock
  • Experimental rock
  • Art music
  • DIY
  • Experimentalism
  • Avant-blues

Comment: it is said at Lastfm site that Stillborn Blues isn't blues but minimalist, awkward, melancholic and lo-fi prepared/detuned guitar pieces played in the dark with too much delay and reverb. Even if it is a honest (self)-confession a listener can find out many layers and gushes of emotions bursting out of this 12-track outing. Musically the whole can be compared with such a cutting-edge guitar juggernaut as Loren Mazzacane Connors whose music is also not being considered blues yet by the experimental musician's own words all he owns musically is due to blues. And also obsessive, dissonant guitar treatments by Fred Frith appear to come to mind after the endless of flow of variegated moods and emotions – from laid-back and halcyon to highly tumultuous, aggressively spaced-out threads. All of that is a dynamical format of dichotomy between chaos and fining, between pain and endorphin-enriched peace. The artist eschews some natural characteristics of experimental music, for example, avoiding progressing into drawn-out improvisations. However, even without it, all these short compositions constitute a dynamical, seamless whole. Although being truly wrung out and stoned for the listener it chimes somehow very archetypical and deeply rooted in the tradition of rock music and because of that I dare to call it a sort of blues as the initial spore of it. The artist's music is anchored over there yet he deconstructs it in different ways. It is all about downright experimentation and invention, about simplicity and intention of giving no damn. No self-indulgence. Some sort of massiveness. It is an instance of true black power which leads the c(o)urse. The impressive outing is a notch in the discography of Eg0cide.

Xavier Mussat – Provided for Courses (2019)

  • Electro-acoustic
  • Experimentalism
  • Musique concrète
  • Avant-garde
  • Electronic music
  • Abstract

Comment: this issue consists of 4 long-running compositions all of them are composed of abrasive and angular sonic details and open space around it. Such sort of music is called electro-acoustic, isn't it? More profoundly, he recorded abstract sound ambiances to be used as background sounds to accompany the work of his students during the intuitive drawing classes he gives. Xavier Mussat used the cheap internal microphone of his computer and several objects (bowls, balls, crumbled paper, table, and a prepared banjo), as well as remixed sounds taken from videos of snowy landscapes. Musically it is one and the same process from scratch to the very end – a permanent flow of greyish glitched-out and metallic cut-up sounds, some percussive sounds, explorations on concrete sounds. At times one can discern the sort of radiophonic play feel as if some ghastly semi-orchestrations and ascensions come to the pathway. The outing is a bit in the discography of Eg0cide.

Failure Circle ‎– Frozen Clinamen #1 (2018)

  • Avant-garde
  • Noise
  • Psycho-acoustic
  • Minimalism
  • Experimentalism
  • Non-music
  • Abstract

Comment: previously I have said many words about noise music. Noise is something which arouses my mind. It is like a wicked desire to get involved in the life of strangers, in the life of machines in this case. What the machines used to say, what is their singular way to perceive other artefacts and subjects around them. Yet, their singular language may be indecipherable because of consisting of highly galvanized voltage, uncountable chains of broken chords, anonymous hisses and hazy penumbras. Kecap Tuyul aka Failure Circle`s 63-minute track/album embraces all those interrupted chains and disturbed phase changes getting power from every day life`s suppressed anxiety. The machines are created by the human being yet the more a human being gets subjugated to the artificial satellite, the more he/she will be enslaved by it. A history of the human being can be viewed as the coexistence of the aforementioned ones. Could you get rid of this addictive relationship given that the machines help you outdo (I mean, forget) your own mortality. You meet Grim Reaper with a motorised scythe. The throbbing sonic issue is a part of the discography of Eg0cide Productions.

Ars Sonor & Meklabor - Box of Matches (2011)

/Drone, Ambient, Dystopbient, Ambient drone, Ambient noise, Soundscapes, Epic, Minimal/

Comment: this 4-track is an intricate compromise between lush ambient soundscapes and epic drone pulsation created by Laetitia Schteinberg (Ars Sonor), and D. Vlasov (Meklabor) who are supported by the well known drone musician Mystified ( playing flute) in one track. More concretely, the album is a majestic drift between bleak and whistling sonic plateaus, as if murmuring its wishes over the metallic landscapes and wrathful hills. Great.
