owt kri- - White Glaciers (2014)

/Drone, Ambient, Space rock, Leftfield, Avant-garde, Post-industrial, Ambient noise/

Comment: owt kri is an artist from Helsinki, Finland whose 4-track issue is an example of abrasive ambient and borderline space rock and glowering drone music. By listening to it this will open up a new sonic world and some more obscure dimensions to music lovers. It embraces loads of sonic reverberations, distorted guitar chord progressions and menacing metallic patterns full of depth and flickering shadows. It chimes like the incantation of a stoned shaman standing on the ruins of a brick building after the narrative of industrial world was irreversibly collapsed. It will sift across the listener`s nerve channels and vessels. Highly intriguing.

Cannaya - Klangwerk (2013)

9.5

/Post-dubstep, Witch house, Microtonal, Dark ambient, Micronoise, Experimentalism, Repetitronica, Industrial electronica, Avant-electronica/

Comment: Cannaya`s music on this jumbled, 9-track release is filled with anxious, repetitive noiseful boutades, heavily dystopic hisses, and intense pummeling of an array of divergent rhythms, however, bordering on the resonance-filled walls. By its tendencies the publication can be related to the echoes and bouts of post-dubstep, and witch house, though, the classification is quite complicated. Instead of it, Cannaya`s influences can be harked back to Faust-ian third ear noise, prompt transitions and spacey anti-rock experiments, for instance.Indeed, it is the calligraphy of tortured noises and goth ambiances drifting sometimes subtly between noise and silence created by Stefan, and Ralf from Aachen, Germany. Technically it involves lots of experiments with beeping sounds, delay-soaked bits, wondrously swaying channeling and reverb-heavy undercurrents. The issue is released on Format Noise whose discography includes lots of outstanding releases. In a word, the whole is a slightly disturbing, palatable one. You have no choice.

Krokar - Respiration (2011)

9.3

/IDM, Ambient dub, Musique concrete, Dub-tech, Experimental electronica, Dark ambient, Avant-electronica, Abstract techno, Breaks, Industrial techno/

Comment: in the first place, this batch of 9 compositions showcases its brooding and a  little hysterical brain dance-appealed side full of (half-) shades and industrial-tinged rhythmic facets and highly infiltrated borderlines right and left. Sometimes these elements are set in a way to build up more abstract sonic tissues, haunting landscapes and ill-omened robot "voices" which are assisted with the help of some concrete sounds and warped sonic effects. There are up some exceptions either which used to step in the traces of deep dub music. In short, it is an eminent example by the Russian combo coming out of the innovative dance music scene.

Tatlum - Subject (2011)

/Power electronics, Industrial techno, Avant-garde, Sampledelic, Cut and paste, Non-music, Rhythmic noise, Experimental electronica/

Comment: Tatlum is a project from Moscow, Russia which is driven by the intentions of noise music and power electronics. Max Zeelot aka Zilot aka Tatlum represents 10 pieces within it heavily distorted, noiseful tunes are interspersed with the tendencies of sampledelics/cut and paste/sound collage and spoken word bits and seamlessly overdriving sample chunks which are bent in a way to be funny (for instance, there can be perceived schlager-based cut-ups in one track). However, frequently the music is getting drifted toward more industrial(-techno)-carved shapes and patterns. Now and then his predominantly exulting music used to be more atmospherical, though, never being a relaxing kind of. In true, there are up few moments where the powerful flow of his sound is somewhat diminished or broken in (for instance, Drei). Such producers as Lebensjunge, Grunt, Edgeist, Interlard, Sick Seed are Tatlum`s kindred souls.

d.Forma mecanica de fluidos (Format Noise)

Format Noise is such a kind of label which has not been very keen to issue a lot of music. Thereby some albums having released per a year are really expected for. A lot of (good) artists I have discovered for my great pleasure are often be found from here. No doubt, d.Forma (from the USA) is a pro-sided project as well, with a long tenure yet, having released its first outbursts in the first side of the 00`s.

6 tracks, having their drive through noise-infused industrial and EBM beats. Experimenting with various pace speed changes-effects, on different levels of uncompromising hard beat intenseness, d.structed and nihilistic electronic structures and gloomy neoclassical ambiences behind it do make up a lot of impressions from the start to the very last seconds. The favorites of mine are the starting track Eight, and Mine. In a nutshell, this is the music on the ground of pop periphery while it is enjoyable enough.
